WHO Recommends Covaxin For Emergency Use

Bharat Biotech's Covaxin has been recommended by the Technical Advisory Group of the World Health Organisation (WHO) for Emergency Use Listing (EUL).

On Thursday (Oct 28), WHO had said that Bharat Biotech had been submitting information required for EUL of Covaxin "regularly and very quickly" to a technical committee that helps the global health agency in assessing the vaccine.

Earlier, the apex health body had asserted that it trusted India's vaccine manufacturing industry and said its' vaccines are of "high quality".

Bharat Biotech had on 19 April submitted EOI (Expression of Interest) to the UN health body for EUL of Covaxin.
