In what seems like a case of suspected honour killing, two miscreants shot one Ashraf Ali from point blank range at Bhelakhamar in Krishnai of Goalpara district on Thursday.

The alleged reason behind the killing has been termed as Ali's marriage to a Hindu girl.

Grieving about her loss, Ali's wife said, "My mother has killed my husband". Further revealing that, "She warned me earlier that either I will kill you or I will finish the person for whom you have put me through such grief".

Police has arrested one Jyotish Rai in this context.
