1 quintal ganja seized in Golaghat

As much as 1 quintal ganja being illegally transported in a vehicle was seized by the Golaghat police on Monday. The market value of the seized ganja will be Rs. 30 lakh, informed police.

The driver of the Bolero vehicle was arrested by the police in connection with the seizure. Interestingly, there was a fake notice of ONGC in front of the vehicle, which read, "On ONGC Duty".

The contraband was transported from Tripura, when Golaghat police seized the ganja-ladden vehicle near Jyotinagar area. It was one of the major haul of ganja in the State after model code of conduct came into force for the elections.
