Altogether fifteen candidates filed nomination forposts of president, vice president and principal secretary of the Asam SahityaSabha.

According to a statement, for the post of presidentDr Basanta Kumar Goswami, Prahlad Tasha, Dr Karabi Deka Hazarika, SuryakantaHazarika, Pakhila Kalita, Dr Joyasree Goswami Mahanta and Kuladhar Saikia havefiled nomination papers.

For the post of vice president Dr Basanta KumarSarma, Padumi Gogoi, Mrinalini Devi and Ratimohan Nath and for the post of principalsecretary Harendra Kalita, Jadab Chandra Sarma, Pradum Rajkhowa and DebojitBora have filed nomination, a statement issued by member of the election committeeBijon Kumar Mahajan said.

Withdrawal of the nomination papers have to be doneon October 7. The voting process and dispatching of ballot papers will start onNovember 1 at district and branch levels of Sahitya Sabha.
