In atragic incident in Golaghat town last night, two including an older woman and agirl child have died in a house fire at Jyoti Nagar area.

As per the locals, the girl called for help when the house started filling up with smoke. "That's when we found the house in flames," said a local. Though the locals informed the firefighters, the house was already turned into ashes within minutes. The fire has since been extinguished.

According to reports, the owner of the house and his wife went out shopping when the incident took place. The locals suspected that the fire broke out from earthen lamps.
