2022 WC Qualifiers | Halicharan released from Nat’l squad

Indian senior national team coach Igor Stimac released seven players from the national camp in Goa as he brought down the probable squad to a 28-member team.

The released players included midfielders Halicharan Narzary, Pronay Halder, defenders Salam Ranjan Singh, Anwar Ali (Jr.), Jerry Lalrinzuala, and forwards Farukh Choudhary and Jobby Justin.

India begins its campaign for the FIFA World Cup 2022 against Oman and Qatar on September 5, and 10 respectively.

India is placed in Group E alongside Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Oman and Qatar.
