21 Bangladeshis deported from Karimganj

India on Saturday deported 21 Bangladeshi nationals back to their country on through the international border in Sutarkandi ICP, Karimganj. The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has approved the deportation of the Bangladeshi nationals.

According to reports, those 21 Bangladeshis were detained at the detention camp of Silchar Central Jail after they were nabbed for violation of Passport Act. Reports also suggested that 15 Bangladeshi nationals were detected in Karimganj, while the other 6 were detained from Cachar.

Notably, the first major diplomatic move to deport Bangladeshi nationals was initiated in October 2016, when almost 10 Bangladeshi nationals were sent back to the country.
