31 Bangladeshis detained in Guwahati

31 Bangladeshis were detained on Monday by the Railway Protection Force at Guwahati Railway station.

The illegal foreigners were held from Platform No 1 of the Guwahati Railway Station.

The Bangladeshis were apprehended when they were preparing to board the Kanchenjunga Express for Agartala, Tripura. The 31 Bangladeshis included Ten male, eight female and 13 children.

They stated that they were planning to move to their ancestral home in Bangladesh ahead of Durga Puja through Agartala.

The Bangladeshis couldn't produce any valid Indian citizenship documents when asked by the Railway Police.

The foreigners also shared that they went to Bengaluru in search of work and  entered India illegally two-three years ago.

They revealed of reaching Guwahati on Sunday from Bengaluru and spending the night at the platform.
