The HailakandiPolice have detained five people in connection with the horrific moral policingincident that took place in Nitainagar village under the district on Friday evening.

Accordingto sources, the detainees have been identified as Rafikul Hussain Lashkar,Nurul Haque Lashkar, Anamuddin Lashkar, Manikuddin Lashkar and Saifulla Ahmed. Theyare currently being interrogated by the police.

It maybe mentioned here that the incident took place when the youths were travellingin an Innova vehicle and the locals suspected them to be kidnappers. The angrylocals thrashed all the four youths and set their vehicle on fire.
