716 villages affected by floods in Assam

As per latest reports of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), as many as 716 villages have been affected in seven districts in the recent wave of flood in the state.

A population of around 4,25,373 have been affected.

Brahmaputra at Nimatighat, Dhansiri at Numaligarh, Jia Bharali at Sonitpur, Kopili at Kampur, Barak at Cachar, Katakhal at Hailakandi and Kushiyara at Karimganj are flowing above the danger level.

NDRF and SDRF teams have been engaged for search and rescue operations along with setting up of relief camps across flood-affected regions.
