Pratidin Bureau

More than eight lakhs divyangs and their family members have decided to boycott the forthcoming panchayat election in the State. The Pratibandhi Suraksha Macha has informed the decision.

Addressing a press meet in Naharkatia on Wednesday, the Pratibandhi Suraksha Macha said that the decision was taken in view of government's betrayal to the divyangs. They also mentioned about the disloyalty that the current government has showed towards them.

They further demanded the pension of Rs. 1000 that the government has promised from April, 2018. Expressing grief over the matter the Pratibandhi Suraksha Macha has informed that the current government has also denied the pension of Rs. 5000, which the divyangs have got during the tenure of last government in the State.

The eight lakh divyangs and 44 lakh their family members took the decision to boycott the panchayat polls in the State in protest against Sarbananda Sonowal-led current government.
