AASU-AJYCP Members Stage Protest Against NHPC

A tensed situation prevailed at Narayanpur on Monday night after All Assam Students' Union (AASU) and Assam Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chattra Parishad (AJYCP) members blocked the truck loaded with construction materials of NHPC at National Highway 15 at Narayanpur.

The AASU and AJYCP members also burnt the effigy of NHPC and raised slogans against the Assam government and BJP.

Moreover, the police threatened the agitating members saying that they can be put under jail for 5 years. The agitators also alleged that the construction material loaded trucks have been moved to NHPC site later at night with the help of the police by taking the advantage of night curfew.

They also alleged that on July 6, a truck loaded with construction materials has also reached the NHPC site with the help of the police and when the AASU and AJYCP members tried to stop the truck from carrying the materials they have been detained by police.
