Abducted stone quarry manager Apurba Kakati released

Apurba Kakati, manager of a stone quarry located at Jagun in Tinsukia district, who was allegedly abducted by miscreants on November 19, has reportedly been released. He has been released at Lanka Basti under Nampung in Arunachal Pradesh.

An amount of Rs 1.5 lakhs ransom was demanded for Apurba's release from his family members. However, if the amount was paid or not is still not confirmed. Apurba's condition is said to be stable and will be taken to his house by police.

It should be noted that a tea garden manager was also kidnapped from Charaideo district on the same day by unidentified miscreants.
