Accoland Amusement Park temporarily sealed as water found contaminated

The popular amusement park Accoland in Guwahati has been sealed indefinably as the District Administration found contamination in the water used in the water park.

Acting on a specific complaint, the District Administration today raided the popular theme park and found that source of water was contaminated and the park authorities were not taking any measures for removal of the contamination.

The park is hugely popular amongst the children and was chock a block full as the summer vacation are going on and hundreds of kids were enjoying the water rides.

Accoland had made several unauthorized constructions and raised the height of some rides but the biggest offense was the water used in various rides. The water was drawn from a nearby pond, which was not treated resulting skin diseases of various park goers, some of which had filed a written complaint against the park.

There was a similar complaint last year also and the park authorities had given written assurance to the District Authorities for corrective action but that was not properly followed.
