AGP leaders meet Home Minister Rajnath Singh to oppose citizenship to Bangladeshis

Senior leaders of Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) today met with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi today to discuss on the issue of Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.

AGP leaders Prafulla Kumar Mahanta, Atul Bora, Keshab Mahanta and others met the Home minister and strongly opposed the probability of providing citizenship to Hindu Bangladeshis in Assam through the Bill.

AGP also cleared its stand on the Citizenship Bill and informed Singh that they will no way support implementation of the Bill in Assam.

''We have made our stand very much clear on the Citizenship Bill and had a lengthy discussion with Rajnath Singh. We asked him why did he in a program stated that this Bill will be anyhow implemented, to which he said that he was not doing well and he himself did not know what he was saying," AGP's Atul Bora said.
