AGP Suspends Party Meetings for 3 Days

Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has suspended all-party meetings for three-days from Tuesday (November 24) to November 26 mourning the death of the former chief minister Tarun Gogoi.

AGP General Secretary Manoj Saikia in a statement said that the party's meetings and works will remain suspended for three days on November 24, 25 and 26 as per the instruction of the party president Atul Bora.

The veteran politician who breathed his last on Monday evening will be cremated on Thursday with full state honours.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also declared three days of mourning in the state. The state government will declare whether the government office will remain closed during the period of mourning.
