AJYCP Lashes Out At Amit Shah

Pratidin Bureau

Protests broke out against the contentious Citizenship Bill issue after BJP President Amit Shah vowed to get it passed.
The development follows Amit Shah's declaration in Lakhimpur on Sunday that his party was working to ensure the law gets passed in Parliament. This was followed by AJYCP Lakhimpur district committee had burnt the BJP national president in effigy and said that "We cannot tolerate a leader coming from Delhi and threatening our very existence".

Despite widespread protests in North East, addressing a rally in Lakhimpur, the BJP president clearly said that "We will not allow Assam to become another Kashmir. CAB will be brought about by PM Modi once again and we are committed to take it again. We will root out 'ghuspethis' from Assam".

"It was not only for Northeast but for all refugees in the entire country. The way demography is changing in Assam, without the Citizenship Bill, the people of the state will be in big danger," he added.
