Akhil attacks government over NRC

KrishakMukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader Akhil Gogoi on Wednesday said that at least56 people have committed suicide in connection with NRC. Addressing the mediain Guwahati, Gogoi attacked both Centre and State government over the ongoingupdation of NRC.

"The indigenous people have thought that NRC would have solved the foreigners' issue, but the Centre, as well as the State government, have been doing conspiracy against NRC," said the KMSS leader.

Gogoi further added, "Both State and Centre's stand regarding NRC are politically motivated. They do not want proper NRC."

Reacting to government's decision of filing a petition regarding re-examination of 20% names included in the draft NRC list published on July 31, 2018, Gogoi also said that there should be 100% re-verification of names included in the draft NRC list.
