Akshay Kumar Donates for Assam Flood

Bollywood Actor Akshay Kumar who is also akind-hearted soul has come up with a helping hand for Assam flood victims asthe actor has donated Rs. 1crore each to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund andfor Kaziranga Park rescue.

The actor took to Twitter to announce the news saying, "Absolutely heartbreaking to know about the devastation by floods in Assam. All affected, humans or animals deserve support in this hour of crisis. I'd like to donate 1 cr each to the CM Relief Fund and for Kaziranga Park rescue. Appealing to all to contribute @CMOfficeAssam @Kaziranga."

This is not the first time that the actor has comeforward for a philanthropic cause. The actor has also donated a handsome amountduring the Cyclone Fani at Odisha to help the victims rebuild their lives.

The actor has been involved in other charitableactivities be it Bharat ke Veer initiative for the armed forces or hiscontribution to the Kerala Floods or Chennai floods.

Meanwhile, Brand Ambassador of Assam tourism Priyanka Chopra has also appealed her fans to contribute for the flood victims. She took to Twitter and wrote, "Extremely devastated by all the news coming in from #Assam and other parts of India. It's heartbreaking to read about the displacement and loss of life. My prayers with those affected. Please donate."

Floodwaters in Assam rose overnight with theBrahmaputra River, which flows down from the Himalayas into Bangladesh, and itstributaries are still overflowing. Most of the Kaziranga National Park, home tothe rare one-horned rhino, is underwater.
