In another proud moment for Assam, an ex-student of Apeejay Tea's Hokonguri Tea Estate's LP School Pallavi Das Panika has been selected by the Asian University for Women (AUW) in Chittagong as a student for five years.

The cost of tuition and residency, which is $75,000, will be borne by the University.

It may be mentioned here that Pallavi is one of three students selected by AUW after clearing the admission test and the interview round.

"I have promised my parents that I will use this opportunity I now have" said Pallavi. "I have always loved studying. At this moment, I feel like everything is possible! I want to come back, work in a garden and make sure everyone goes to school and studies hard" she adds.

Pallavi says that she has chosen Environmental Science as specialisation in AUW because of her love for Geography as a subject and the outdoors. She hopes that her success will motivate everyone in the community.
