Controversial businessman Rajesh Himatsingka and his wife have been detained by the North Guwahati police pertaining to the incident of a woman being shot at in Amsoi Tea Estate.

It may be noted that it was in a suo moto case that the North Guwahati Police detained Himatsingka.

Accordingto reports, the police investigation began after the victim's operation wascompleted in Narayana Super speciality Hospital.

Along with Singka, other businessmen – Ranjan Khemani and Kartik Roy have also been detained in the same matter.

In North Guwahati police's operation, Kartik's BMW, which was allegedly used for accomplishing the crime; Himatsingka's revolver, whose license has expired and 10 rounds of live bullet have been recovered. The bullet that was allegedly found in the victim's wound, was reportedly fired from the recovered revolver.

Himatsingkahas been detained from his residence in Amsoi Tea Estate.
