APCC issues showcause notice to Dulu Ahmed

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) hasissued showcause notice to their general secretary Dulu Ahmed for hiscontroversial remarks against a party leader. The showcause notice issued onSaturday sought an explanation from him within July 29.

According to sources in the APCC, disciplinaryaction would be initiated against Ahmed if he fails to submit his explanationwithin July 29.

It may be mentioned here that Congress leader Dulu Ahmed in an indirect attack to party MLA and former Assam Forest Minister Rakibul Hussain, alleged that he was involved in rhino poaching. Ahmed had also indirectly termed Rakibul as an agent of BJP.

On the other hand, Rakibul Hussain on Saturday eveningchaired a meeting with Assam Congress' minority leaders. Leaders of otherminority organisations were also present in the meeting.
