APCC urges Rahul to remain as party Prez

A delegation from Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) visited Rahul Gandhi's residence on Thursday morning and submitted a memorandum requesting Rahul to reconsider his decision.

Rahul Gandhi remained firm on his decision to quit from the post of party president even the lawmakers on Wednesday urged him to stay.

The party lawmakers said that there was no one else who can lead the Congress and insisted that he continue to lead.

Soon after the 2019 Lok Sabha elections results were declared, Rahul apprised party leaders of his decision to step down as the party president, taking moral responsibility for the poll debacle.

The APCC team comprised of President Ripun Bora, Former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Opposition leader Debabrat Saikia, Senior Congress leader Rockybul Hussain, Lok Sabha MP Gaurav Gogoi and many leaders.
