Army and Chirang Police apprehends hardcore NDFB (S) terrorist

Continuing its relentless operation against the Sangbijit faction of National Democratic Front of Bodoland, NDFB (S), the army and Chirang Police apprehended a hardcore NDFB (S) terrorist in a joint operation on May 25.

Based on intelligence inputs, the army and police had laid a mobile vehicle check post and nabbed the individual after observing suspicious movement.

The apprehended terrorist has been identified as Umbilash Brahma aka B Udang. A factory made pistol, live ammunition and a grenade has been recovered from Udang.

B Udang is a 42 batch cadre of NDFB (S) and has been active since 2015. It may be mentioned here that he was responsible for multiple extortion activities in Chirang and Kokrajhar. He was also involved in the recruitment of new cadres recently.
