Arunachal CM submits resignation to Governor

Withthe new government all set to form in Arunachal Pradesh, the Cabinet ofthe Sixth State Legislative Assembly was dissolved on Sunday. Arunachal PradeshChief Minister Pema Khandu in Sunday evening called on Governor Dr BD Mishraand submitted the resignations. He was accompanied by Deputy CM Chowna Meinduring the meeting.

Meanwhile,the Governor Mishra after accepting the resignations, requested Pema Khandu tocontinue holding respective offices till the formation of the new government.

The BJP has won 41 seats in the 60-member Arunachal Pradesh Assembly. The Assembly elections were held for 57 seats as three BJP candidates were declared elected unopposed. BJP had also won both the Lok Sabha seats in the State.

Earlier, the Cabinet in its last meeting observed two minutes silence to mourn the untimely death of Late Tirong Aboh and ten innocent lives.
