Arunachal Pradesh | NSCN (R) militants arrested

Three NSCN (R) cadres including a local Area commander, Self Styled Captain Wangjang Pangtha of NSCN(R) apprehended from Old Shallang village, district Changlang in Arunachal Pradesh.

According to a press release from Col C Konwer, PRO (Defence), extortion activities by cadres in South Arunachal Pradesh has been a constant issue of concern.

The cadres were found in possession of an AK-56 assault rifle, one M-20 pistols with live ammunition, mobile phones with multiple sim cards. The group was also involved in intimidation of local populace during general election this year, the release added.
