Arunachal Scouts vandalise police station in Bomdila

The Arunachal Scouts personnel vandalised a police station and the PWD office in Bomdila on Saturday

The Scouts personnel snatched arms, ammunition from the police station and also damaged several vehicles.

According to the reports, over 100 personnel of the 2nd Arunachal Scouts vandalised the police station and a PWD office.

They also threatened the officer-in-charge of Bomdila police station to take stern action against him.

Two intoxicated Arunachal Scouts personnel  misbehaved with few people in the Buddha Mahotsava, which started at Bomdila from Nov 2 Friday, said a top official of Arunachal Police.

Following the incident, a police team led by the officer-in-charge rushed to the area and brought the personnel to the police station.

Later, the commanding officer of the Arunachal Scouts came to the police station and took the two personnel away with him.

But, on Saturday, over 100 personnel of the scouts vandalised the police station, five vehicles and a PWD office.

A complaint letter has been sent by the district administration to the central government.

West Kameng district Superintendent of Police Raja Banthia said that, an inquiry committee has been initiated to probe into the incident. Meanwhile, the community based organisations of West Kameng has condemned the rogue behaviour of the 2nd Arunachal Scouts personnel.
