‘Asom Jana Sambodhan’ virtual rally Tomorrow

Pratidin Bureau

BJP National President Jagat Prakash Nadda will address virtual rally for Assam on Tuesday. Earlier, the ruling BJP suspended all its organisational activities for two days as a mark of respect for the Army personnel who sacrificed their lives in clashes with Chinese troops in Ladakh's Galwan Valley.

The rally was planned to coincide with the first anniversary of the second term of the Narendra Modi-led Central government and the fourth anniversary of the Sarbananda Sonowal-led State government.

Nadda was scheduled to address the rally online from New Delhi, while Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, State BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass and senior BJP leader and NEDA convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma were to address it from the Srimanta Sanakaradeva Kalakshetra here.

However, the virtual rally was deferred following the party's decision to suspend all organisational programmes for two days.

Taking to Twitter, NEDA convener Himanta Biswa Sarma has requested the citizens of the state to join the virtual rally.
