ASSAM | 5 Bangladeshis To Fly For Dhaka Tomorrow

A total of five illegal immigrants lodged in the detention camps to be deported to Bangladesh from Assam on Tuesday.

Of the five convicts, two are currently lodged in Goalpara detention camps. All the five convicts were booked under the Passport Act for illegally entering India, Official sources said.

Instead of the land route, they will be flown to Dhaka from Guwahati via Kolkata.

After being taken to Kolkata from Guwahati, theBangladeshi nationals, escorted by a team of Border Police, will be handed overto the Immigration officials at the airport. From there, the Immigrationofficials will take their custody and finally hand over to the Bangladeshiagencies.

More than 200 foreign nationals, including 180 illegalBangladeshi immigrants, have been deported from Assam in the last two years.

At present, there are more than 1,000 Bangladeshinationals lodged in the six detention camps in the State.
