Assam bids Sunil Kalita farewell

Assam bids farewell to the CRPF Jawan Sunil Kalita who lost his life in a Maoists attack in Jharkhand. The mortal remains of the martyr is now at his hometown, where his last rites will be performed shortly.

Kalita will be cremated with full state honour in Dimu, Palara.

Neighbours and friends are trying to console his family members, but losing their own at such a young age has left them inconsolable.

Sunil Kalita of 209 COBRA battalion, sustained serious injuries during IED blast caused by Maoists in Saraikela district, Jharkhand on May 28 and was under treatment at Trauma Centre AllMS, New Delhi since June 4. However, he succumbed to his injuries on Thursday night at 7:40 pm.
