Assam CM meets Dokmoka Mob Lynching victims’ fathers

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday met Dokmoka Mob Lynching victims Abhijeet Nath and Nilotpal Das' fathers at his office at Janata Bhawan.

The CM offered his condolences and also expressed gratitude for helping the society maintain peace and harmony, overcoming their personal grief.

During the meeting, Abhijeet's father Ajit Kumar Nath and Nilotpal's father Gopal Chandra Das also submitted their suggestions for awarding punishments to the miscreants involved in the incident, in written and sought the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the incident.

Sonowal assured that no stones will be left unturned to ensure strictest punishment to the one involved in the incident. "For fast delivery of justice, we have formed a SIT under a senior IPS officer. The trial shall be put up in a fast track court for speedy delivery of justice" he added.

He also urged Abhijeet Nilotpal's parents to be a part of Mission Sanskar launched by the government to eliminate social evils of superstitions from the society.
