Three Assam Police officers awarded 'Union Home Minister's Medal for Excellence in Investigation' for 2019.
The Awardees of Assam Police for the year 2019 are :

2. Nayan Moni Barman, APS, Dy.S.P.(HQ), Hailakandi
3. Md. Emdadul Hussain, S.I.(UB),Goalpara DEF

Shankar Brata Raimedhi
Raimedhi has been awarded for his investigation into an infamous gang rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl in Assam's Nagaon district in 2018 resulting in conviction in a Fast Track Court and death sentence for the main accused.

This medal, constituted in 2018, with the objective to promote high professional standards of investigation of crime and to recognize such Excellence in Investigation by Investigating officers.

A total of 96 police officers across the country have been awarded the 'Union Home Minister's Medal for Excellence in Investigation' for the year 2019.
