Assam Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said the health department has achieved an impressive milestone by conducting 2.17 lakh COVID19 tests so far.

Earlier, the Health Minister announced that the state's health department has targeted to conduct 2 lakh COVID19 tests by June 15.

Taking to Twitter, Minister Dr. Sarma said that "Pleased to share that pursuing our policy of proactive & aggressive testing for #COVID19, Assam has completed 2.17 lakh tests. We've been carrying out approx 10,000 tests per day after having ramped up our capacities."

He also lauded the health department for achieving this feat and demonstrating remarkable team work and discipline.
