The World Chess Federation (FIDE) has conferred the title of 'International Arbiter' to Biswajit Bharadwaj and Salina Masum of Assam during their Presidential Board Meeting held at Baku, Azerbaijan.

Bharadwaj has been selected as he completed all norms requiredfor the title in February 2019 and has now become the first and only personfrom the state to hold this prestigious title.

On the other hand, Salina Masum from the state has also beenconferred the title of FIDE Arbiter.
