Assam: Elephant Dies Of Electrocution In Golaghat

An adult female elephant died due to electrocution in the Golaghat district of Assam on Sunday.

As per reports, the forest and environment department officials informed that the incident took place around 4 am, and visible signs of burns owing to electrocution were found.

A post-mortem examination has been conducted and a PRan electric post of 11 KV line was found tilted in Dholagaon Pathar near the carcass of the elephant, aged around 18 years, according to the department release.

Earlier this month, a woman was trampled to death by a wild elephant in Assam's Golaghat.
