Assam Floods: 9.2 lakh affected across 2071 villages in 23 districts

The Assam State Disaster Management Authority on Sunday evening released a report informing the current status of the flood situation across the state.

The report states that 9,26,059 have been severely affected across 23 districts, 67 revenue circles, and 2071 villages

Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Biswanath, Udalguri, Darrang, Nalbari, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, Dhubri, South Salmara, Goalpara, Kamrup, Morigaon, Hojai, Nagaon, Golaghat, Jorhat, Majuli, Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, West Karbi Anglong are the 23 worst-hit districts.

Seven revenue circles of Nalabari and 395 villages in Barpeta have been severely affected. A total of 193 relief camps and distribution centres have been set up accommodating 27, 308 flood-affected victims. The report states two have died, one each from Jonai and Udalguri so far.
