Assam flood | IPS officer donates month’s salary

Lending a helping handfor the flood victims in Assam, Vivekanand Singh, Superintendent of Police, East Jaintia Hills,Meghalaya has donated one month'ssalary for the relief and rehabilitation work in the floods affectedareas of Assam.

The police officer deposited an amount of Rs 81,032 to the Assam Chief Minister's Relief Fund on July 18th, 2019.

IPS Association on Thursdaytweeted "We're incredibly proud of the noble gesture of Vivekanand Singh #IPS, SP @ejhpolice#Meghalaya who has donatedone-month salary to aid relief efforts in #Assamfloods. His appeal to contribute& help the displaced at the time of a calamity is heartening."

Acknowledging thecontribution Assam Chief Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal tweeted, "Great gestureby IPS Vivekanand Singh. My heartfelt thanks."

The gesture is bound togenerate goodwill between the people of both states.
