Assam gets ‘Most Improved Big State’ awards

Assam on Friday received 'MostImproved Big State – Overall' and 'Most Improved Big State for Economy' awardsat the annual India Today State of the States Conclave and Awards – 2019.

Assam Industries andCommerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary received both the awards from PrakashJavadekar, Minister of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Information andBroadcasting in New Delhi today.

According to a pressrelease by the Industries and Commerce department of Assam government, theIndia Today 'State of the States' study is an attempt to find out which ofIndia's states offers its citizens the best opportunities, both at work andoutside. The categories on which the states are judged include economy,agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure, inclusive development, lawand order, governance, entrepreneurship, environment.

Meanwhile, in the 18thedition of the State of the States survey, Tamil Nadu emerged as ourbest-performing big state this year.
