In a major haul, security forces seized heroin worth Rs 4 crore in Assam's Karbi Anglong district on Thursday.

Two persons were arrested who were in possession of the seized the drugs.

As per reports, the drugs were seized during a regular vehicle-checking drive at Laharijan. A whooping amoung of 584 grams of heroin packed in 48 soap boxes were recovered from the duo, who were travelling in a Guwahati-bound bus coming from Manipur.

Later, both of them were taken into custody.

Further investigation is underway.
