Assam HSSLC exam starts

The Assam Higher Secondary Examination has started from today. The exams will continue till March 14. The examination is being held be held in 772 centers across the State and around 2,42,844 students is expected to appear for the HSSLC examinations this year, informed AHSEC. Out of them, 1,86,199 will be appearing in Arts stream, 18,289 will be appearing in Science stream, 37,454 will be appearing in Commerce stream and 902 will be appearing in vocational stream.

The examination schedule has been brought forward in view of the coming Lok Sabha elections.

It is to be mentioned this is the first time jammers are being used to prevent HSSLC exam candidates from cheating using cellphones and other such devices. Section 144 has also been imposed within 50 meters of the examination centers.

Special measures are being taken for fair conduction of the HSSLC examination, informed AHSEC. "There will be CCTV surveillance in every centre, and the jammer will be installed in sensitive centres," said an official of AHSEC on Monday.
