In its war against drugs, Assam police on Wednesday recovered brown sugar worth approximately Rs 3 lakh in Sonitpur district.

A woman, identified as one Sumi Lama Das w/o Nazrul Islam was arrested in connection to the seizure.

The drugs were recovered during a raid at her residence based on specific inputs.

Along with the seized drugs, cash amounting to Rs 5900 and four mobile phones were also seized.

Further investigation into the case is on.
