Assam: Quarantine Period for Returnee from Outside Reduces to 10 days

The Health & Family Welfare Department, Assam has reduced the quarantine period to 10 days from 14 days if one returned from outside the state.

In a notification issued by the health department, it said that the quarantine period has been reduced to 10 days inclusive of days spent in institutional/hotel quarantine as well as home quarantine.

The notification further stated that if a passenger spends initial 2 days in hotel quarantine, then they should spend the rest 8 days in home quarantine. Similarly, if a passenger directly heads to home quarantine then they should spend 10 days at home.

However, if the RT-PCR test result of the passenger turns out positive, then the health department will take necessary action.
