Assam: Revision Of Electoral Roll By Dec 15

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nitin Khade appealed to the people of Assam to check the 'Draft Photo Electoral Roll-2021' that was published on November 18 this year. The corrections have to be made on or before December 15 this year.

The final photo electoral roll will be published on January 15, 2021, the CEO said while addressing the media on Monday afternoon.

Khade said, that through both online and offline application form procedures, citizens can make changes for those whose names are yet to be included in the electoral roll, citizens who want to transfer from one polling station to another, and the ones whose names require corrections in their respective names and other details.

The forms with required changes will have to be submitted to the Booth Level Officer (BLO) of the polling station or the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) of the Assembly constituency concerned.

The total electors in Assam are 2,24,39,522. 1,14,25,748 voters are males and 1, 10, 13, 774 are females. There is an increase of 62 polling stations this year. Presently, there are 28,205 polling stations. Keeping in view the coronavirus protocols, supporting polling stations of 6, 452 such polling stations would  be set up.
