Assam Rifles’ Mahila Jawans to create history

The Assam Rifles and the para military is set to create history at the Rajpath this Republic Day as an all-women contingent will be marching in the parade.

It may be noted that some of the mahila jawans taking part in the contingent on January 26 are family members of martyrs recruited on compassionate ground.

A rifle woman, who has been recruited in place of her martyr husband said that she wishes to fulfill his dreams. The mother of a five year old son also said that the entire family is proud of her.

The contingent led by Major Khusboo Kanwar comprises of 144 members excluding two officers.
