Assam To Get 533 MW Power from LSHEP

Jonai MLA Bhubon Pegu on Tuesday sought a reply from the power department in the ongoing Assam assembly session in regard to the estimated power supply in the state by Lower Subansiri project.

In reply to the MLA, Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary said that the state is going to get a total of 25 MW free power from the NHPC, Lower Subansiri project.

"The state can get up to 533 MW power from the Lower Subansiri project which includes 25 MW free power": Patowary added.

Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) has been signed between NHPC and Assam State Electricity Board, Government of Assam on 09.06.2009.

As per the agreement, the allocation of power from the NHPC station amongst the Bulk power customers shall be in accordance with the instructions issued or to be issued by the MOP, Government of India from time to time.
