Assam: Villagers Attempt To Burn Woman Alive Over Suspicion Of Witchcraft

In an abysmal incident, a few locals attempted to burn a woman alive in Assam's Dibrugarh district over suspicion of witchcraft and sorcery.

As per initial reports of Pratidin Time, the heinous crime occurred in the early hours of Monday at the outskirts of Dibrugarh Town in Lejai Kanthal Bam village.

The victim has been identified as one Champa Mura and she is currently missing.

Two police teams from the Barbaruah police station of the district are present at the spot and an investigation is continuing. More details are awaited in this matter.
