Assam Zoo gets 4 new guests

After twenty years, the  Assam State Zoo Cum Botanical Garden has got a pair of ostrich. And It's a good news for its visitors as they will now be able to see a pair of ostrich in the Zoo.

Not only ostrich, another pair of striped hyenas have been brought from the Ranchi's Bhagwan Borsa Biological Park.

As part of an animal exchange programme, the State Zoo has given a male black panther and three leopard cats to the Ranchi zoo.

The ostriches are around two years of age and are reaching maturity, while the hyenas are around one and half years of age.

The Assam State Zoo cum Botanical Garden is the largest of its kind in the North East region and it is spread across 432 acre.
