Assam's Ashwin Hazarika an eighth-grade student and US citizen performed the American National Anthem in the Democratic National Convention 2020.

In this convention, the Democratic Party formally nominated Joe Biden for the post of the president and Pamela Harris for Vice President.

Hazarika is an eighth grade student of Clarksville Middle School of Maryland. Sources reported that he is the first Assamese child to perform in such a big platform.
