Assam’s Pokhila wins Gold in APM Games

Pokhila Ingtipi hailing from Diphu, Karbi Anglong wins Gold medal in the 5000 metres walking competition of Asia Pacific Masters' Games at Penang, Malaysia.

She also clinched Bronze medal in 5000 metres race of the event. With this new achievement, Pokhila now becomes the first girl from Assam to leave a mark in the Athletics category of this competition.

In an earlier competition held in April this year, named the 1st National Masters Games at Chandigarh, she secured a Gold medal in the 1,500-metre race.

The Asia Pacific Masters' Games 2018  includes competitions on 22 different categories including archery, athletics, badminton, basketball, cycling, hockey, swimming, squash, tennis, weightlifting, volleyball etc
