Assam’s Priyanka Das appointed ambassador of ‘For Girls and Science’ initiative in France

A 26-year old girl from Assam, Priyanka Das, has been appointed as the ambassador of "For Girls and Science' initiative in France.

'For Girls and Science' is an initiative in France to encourage local girls to pursue a career in the field of Science and take it to higher education heights.

Priyanka Das, who is currently working on satellite navigation for French major Safran, has been appointed to inspire youths and especially young girls to become scientists of tomorrow in the country. The initiative is supported by L'Oreal Foundation and the Ministry of National Education of France.

Following the appointment, Priyanka Das told PTI, "As part of the programme, we meet middle school and high school students, and through talks and presentations, we try to clear the misconceptions about scientists and women in science."
